Aldar Privacy Policy 

This Privacy Policy applies to www.aldar.com and other company websites (“Websites”) and mobile applications including but not limited to Live Aldar and the Aldar Broker Portal (“Mobile Applications”), which are owned and operated by Aldar Properties PJSC (collectively, “Aldar,” “us,” or “we”) and our group companies (“Aldar Group”). This Privacy Policy describes how Aldar collects and uses the personal information you provide (directly or through third parties), or which is automatically generated, when you interact with our websites and our mobile applications.

By accessing or using Aldar Group Websites and Aldar Mobile Applications, you agree to this privacy policy with the understanding of your information being collected and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, you may not use Aldar Group Websites or Mobile Applications. To revoke your consent you can update your preference by clicking Cookie Settings. WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION? 

Aldar is committed to provide the highest level of security and privacy regarding the collection and use of the customer’s personal information by Aldar Group Web Sites and Mobile Applications.  Personal information includes data by which you may be personally identified, such as a) first name, last name, post box number, mobile number, e-mail address, Aldar Property number, Aldar Plot/ Project name b) about your computing device c) details collected through the submission of Online forms, Mobile Application, Website Contact Us page d) use of tools such as interactive geo locators and e) data collected using smart technologies sensor installed in Aldar owned premises.

COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The information we collect may include:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms, upload image(s) and documents on any Aldar Group websites and/or Aldar Mobile Applications.
  • Personal information provided during a sales event, any contest/promotion sponsored by Aldar or Email or SMS campaign, your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
  • Search queries on the Aldar Group Websites or when you report a problem with any of the Website or Mobile Applications or property.
  • Records and copies of customer communication with Aldar.
  • Details of transactions and orders, including payment card details and information about payments you make to us (for example, property fees), invoice details, if applicable.
  • “Know Your Client” information and copies of your personal identification documents
  • Data we collect from government authorities (for example, the Dubai Land Department, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality etc). Please see Third Party Disclosures Restrictions for more information.
  • Data collected through Wi-Fi channels, customer footfalls channels, social media channels, point-of-sales, mall parking sensors.
  • Data collected through smart technologies (IoT) components and sensors installed in various Aldar owned premises.

Unless restricted by applicable law, you agree that any and all personal information/data relating to you, collected by Aldar Group from Aldar Group Web Sites and Mobile Applications from time to time may be used and disclosed for such purposes and to such persons as may be in accordance with federal laws and regulations and as per Aldar Group’s current policies.

All personal information collected and stored by Aldar Group is processed for one of the following purposes:

  • for specific business purposes to assess your personal interest in Aldar Group offered products and services.
  • to perform a contract with you and deliver you services and goods as applicable.
  • to better understand your needs in order to design or improve our products and services
  • speed up your preferred searches on our Aldar Group Websites.
  • to comply with federal laws and regulations e.g., property registration requirements.
  • to contact you about our own and third-parties' projects and services that may be of interest to you.
We sometimes process your personal information based on your consent and, where we do so, we require your active consent and we will ask you to “tick a box”, sign a form or do some other method to affirmatively provide your consent. You may withdraw your consent at anytime in accordance with this privacy policy.

INFORMATION COLLECTION METHODS FOR PERSONAL INFORMATION (COOKIES, GEO LOCATION, IP ADDRESS AND ITS USAGE)

Aldar Group Websites and Mobile Applications collects certain information about your computing device, browsing actions and patterns e.g. by use of cookies, device ids, etc.

Cookies - An HTTP cookie (also called web cookie, Internet cookie, browser cookie or simply cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is browsing. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember stateful information (such as items added in the shopping cart in an online store) or to record the user's browsing activity (including clicking particular buttons, logging in, or recording which pages were visited in the past).

Aldar Group Websites and Mobile Applications may collect following information:

  • Geo location data, site and pages visited, traffic data, logs and other communication data while using Aldar Group Websites and Mobile Applications.
  • Information about your computer, IP address, operating system and browser type.
  • Web beacons may be used to count users visiting a web page or when an e-mail is opened etc.
  • Flash cookies may collect and store information about user likings and navigation
However, Aldar Group does not store any sensitive information such as personal data in the cookies.

PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • By employing stringent security measures in the collection of your personal information, all Aldar Group Online Forms are submitted to backend systems in a secured manner site through an encrypted session i.e. SSL channel, though we do not guarantee security of your data outside Aldar perimeter and we cannot guarantee security of your data transmitted to us over public networks.

  • Aldar Group limits its employees' access to your personal information to only those personnel who hold a business reason for having access to such information.

  • Only authorised personal from the organisation can access your information stored in the backend systems.

  • Aldar Group also educates all their employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. In addition, individual user names and passwords are used by approved Aldar Group personnel to access your personal information and this maintains an audit trail to further safeguard the privacy of your personal information by identifying who accessed or in any way modified your personal information.

  • It is your responsibility to keep secure your Website and Aldar Group Mobile Applications login IDs and passwords.

  • As per best practice information security, Aldar Group never requests its customers to disclose any personal information through e-mails

THIRD PARTY DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Aldar Group follows strict privacy procedures about protecting your personal information. In addition, Aldar Group requires all third parties with a business need to access this information, to adhere to similar and equally stringent privacy policies.

Aldar Group does not provide customer’s personal information to other companies for the purpose of independent telemarketing or direct e-mail marketing of any non-financial products or services of those companies.

Personal information may be supplied –

  • To a third party if the customer requests it i.e. based on your explicit permission.
  • If the disclosure is required or allowed by law.
  • To reputable reporting agencies, subpoena, or during the investigation of a fraudulent activity.
  • To government agencies such as the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality or Dubai Land Department to comply with our legal obligations and provide certain services to you. 
  • To IT and technical service providers which provide us IT and technical services e.g., our cloud service provider.
  • Third party service providers such as payment service providers, customer relationship management service providers, lawyers, bankers, financial service providers, auditors and insurers.
  • To third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or our assets.
  • To third party agencies who verify information or check matters such as credit scores. 
  • In conjunction with joint marketing agreements we have entered. 
  • To Aldar Group subsidiaries to support their business needs and market their products and services.

Our Websites and Mobile Applications may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • Right to Object to Processing or Withdraw Consent to Processing: You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes and in other limited circumstances. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to object to such processing by not checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your personal data. You can also later withdraw your consent to processing at any time by contacting us at Aldar Customer Care at customer-care-email and updating your email preferences. Note this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. To opt-out of interest-based ads, please disable cookies through your browser settings.

  • Right of Correction and Deletion: You can review and change your personal information by sending us an email at Aldar Customer Care at customer-care-email to request access to, correction or deletion (in certain circumstances) of any personal information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change or delete information if we believe the change or deletion would violate any UAE law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

  • Right of Information: You can obtain information about our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.  

  • Right of Transfer: You can request we transfer your personal data to another third-party entity on your behalf in certain circumstances and where this is technically feasible. 

  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can ask us to suspend the processing of your personal data in certain scenarios.

  • Right to Make a Complaint: You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the UAE Data Office, the UAE supervisory authority for data protection issues. We would however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the UAE Data Office so please contact us at customer-care-email in the first instance.

RIGHTS UNDER OTHER LAWS

Aldar is based in the UAE. From time to time, we may undertake processing activities which mean you have rights under the data protection laws of other territories. Where we are subject to such laws, we take steps to ensure our compliance and we shall respect your rights under such laws. 

RETENTION & ANONYMIZATION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will retain your personal data for the duration required to fulfil the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. and for so long as you maintain an account on our Websites and/or Mobile Applications or have a relationship with Aldar whether as customer or otherwise. We may retain your personal data for some time after this period based to the extent necessary to comply with applicable law.  

In some circumstances, we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for analytics, market research and business development purposes, in which case we may use this anonymised information indefinitely without further notice to you.

PROCESSING OUTSIDE THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

To deliver our Website and Mobile Applications to you, it is sometimes necessary for us to share your personal data with Aldar Group companies, service providers and other third parties which are located outside the UAE. When we transfer your personal information outside of the UAE, we implement, as required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards to ensure your personal data remains protected. 

POLICY CHANGES

We may make changes to this policy (including any additional Aldar terms and conditions incorporated by reference herein) from time to time by notifying you of such changes by any reasonable means (before they take effect), including by posting revised terms on the Website (provided that, for material changes, we will seek to supplement such notice by email, an in-service pop-up message, or other means). Any such changes will not apply to any dispute between you and us arising prior to the date on which we posted the revised policy, or other Aldar terms and conditions, incorporating such changes, or otherwise notified you of such changes. Your use of the App following any changes to these Terms will constitute your acceptance of such changes. The effective date set forth at the top of this document indicates when these Terms were last changed. If you do not wish to continue using the Websites under the updated policy as notified to you, you can stop using the Websites and contact Aldar Customer Care Team to request deletion of your personal information.
