Yas Mall and Make-A-Wish UAE sign Memorandum of Understanding

Abu Dhabi - UAE, February 13, 2017: Following the declaration by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, that 2017 is 'The Year of Giving', Aldar Properties, through its flagship Yas Mall, is taking steps to contribute to this vision through the establishment of partnerships with non-profit and charitable organizations, to provide support to a wide range of meaningful causes.

In line with a commitment to support meaningful causes and be an active contributor to the Year of Giving,  Yas Mall today announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Make-A-Wish® UAE, a non-profit organization established to grant wishes to children in the UAE who are living with life-threatening illnesses.

The MoU was signed at Aldar HQ between HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of Make-A-Wish® UAE and HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Aldar Properties. Also in attendance were HH Sheika Noor bint Fahim Al Qassimi, Trustee Board Member of Make-A-Wish® UAE, Saoud Khoory, General Manager of Yas Mall, and Hani Al Zubaidi, CEO of Make-A-Wish® UAE.

Commenting on the MoU, HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO of Aldar said"Make-A-Wish® UAE is an honourable charitable organisation that truly makes a difference in the lives of children, and a partnership between our two organizations who both aim to bring joy and happiness to our society, is a natural alignment. The Year of Giving is an opportunity for us all to identify more ways in which we can contribute to our communities, and Aldar is proud to demonstrate its commitment to the initiative through this partnership."
Under the partnership, Yas Mall will engage with its retailers to be part of the activities that the mall will host to support the Make-A-Wish® UAE as well as the fundraising that will be announced later in the year.

Hani al-Zubaidi, CEO of Make-A-Wish Foundation expressed his pride with this partnership as it seeks to fulfill the wishes of children with critical and life-threatening health conditions. This initiative reflects Yas Mall's commitment to support charitable organizations and raise awareness of these humanitarian initiatives in the UAE.
The Make-A-Wish® UAE steps in to assist these children and their families by providing an avenue for hope and strength. By focusing on the positive, the Make-A-Wish® UAE brings magic and joy to these children each year, by granting their most cherished wish. This is an experience that the children, their parents and siblings look forward to, often holding on to it to get through the tougher times. From the magic and power of having their most cherished wish granted, these children are given hope, strength and much joy.

Yas Mall is committed to be a platform to support and partner with existing non- profit and charitable organizations, involving its retailers in the mall's ongoing CSR programme, to spread the social responsible behaviors and good spirit among its visitors and business partners, and raise awareness of the humanitarian initiatives among the wider community.
